UNITED TOGETHER BY FAITH.
Our mission is to honor God and give witness to the good news of Christ’s love through worship, preaching, teaching, fellowship and ministering to all human need — especially to our neighbors in need— that all may live in peace and unity, both with God and with one another through Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior.
Our Vision Statement says that we work to honor God by linking people together in Christian love and fellowship, and at Hopewell that is exactly what we strive to do through our Sunday worship of scripture, music and devotion, as well as ministering through fellowship opportunities and the charities that we support with our tithes and offerings.
We observe the Sacrament of Holy Communion the first Sunday of every month, during Holy Week on Maundy Thursday, and at the Christmas Eve evening service.
HELPFUL SERVICES.
A time for welcome, snacks and fellowship follows worship each Sunday.
Our nursery offers a quiet room, a crib, rocker and toys as well as speakers to hear the service if you choose to stay with your child. We have nursery attendants available if needed. Just ask an usher.
We provide designated parking for special needs near the covered entryway, with level access to the church. A chair-lift to the lower level is available as needed.
CALLED TO LEAD.
Christ calls officers to govern and rule in the church, after the manner of Christ for the glory of God, for order and leadership in the body of Christ.
Hopewell is governed by a Session, comprised of six elders and pastor, which is the council for the congregation. The Session has the responsibility for governing the congregation and guiding its witness to the sovereign activity of God in the world.
Hopewell also has two Trustees, who represent the church in legal, financial, and trust issues. The trustees oversee the cemetery. The trustees serve under the supervision of the Session.
